Aging Studies selects interim director
Riann van Zyl, PhD has been selected to serve as interim director of the School of Aging Studies. Van Zyl is currently the director of the School of Social Work and will continue to serve in that position concurrently. Van Zyl has conducted important work in the field of aging studies, including serving as the facilitator for the development of a new national aging policy on behalf of the National Department of Welfare in South Africa. Additionally, while at the University of Louisville, he served as co-principal investigator on the "Interdisciplinary Community - Based Geriatric Training Services Project," a training and evaluation grant sponsored by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Audiology clinical faculty present at FLAA Convention
Hannah Gospodinsky, AuD; Lisa Hansel, MBA, AuD; and Sarah Jones, AuD were presenters at the 26th Annual Florida Academy of Audiology (FLAA) Convention in Orlando. Their presentation, “USF Audiology Grand Rounds” focused on the diverse and unique services offered through the USF Hearing Clinic to pediatric and adult patients in the Tampa Bay community. Dr. Hansel currently serves as the president of the Florida Academy of Audiology.

Precious Goodson, Development Specialist

In her role, Precious will support the CBCS Development Office in building donor relationships, generating interest, and inspiring confidence among the college's constituents to attract private funding to advance teaching, research creative expression, and community engagement. Precious graduated from USF in 2016 with a BS in Health Sciences. Following graduation, she taught various levels of science in middle and high school in Hillsborough County Public Schools. Her hobbies include cycling, listening to audiobooks, and exploring beaches around Tampa Bay.

Lily Lyons, Fiscal and Business Specialist (Management Information Services Team)

Lily’s position provides support to the financial operations of various departments within CBCS. This position ensures compliance with financial controls by monitoring, tracking, and reconciling departmental resources. Additionally, she oversees department expenditures for compliance with University accounting standards and assists in the preparation of monthly and annual financial projections. Lily is a senior attending USF, majoring in accounting with a minor in finance who plans to pursue a master of accountancy and CPA. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach and exploring downtown Tampa.

As office manager, Kiyarrow supports the Human Resources (HR) needs of the Department of Mental Health Law & Policy, travel for the dean, and faculty tenure and promotion for Jennifer Lister. Before joining CBCS, Kiyarrow worked for St. Petersburg College from 2007-2015 in the Enrollment Management and Admissions/Records department. She worked for Pinellas County Schools in 2015 and later joined their HR team in 2018. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, shopping, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Session Description:
Since the enactment of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act service options and placement strategies offered by VR have expanded to include customized employment (CE) as a subset of supported employment (SE) services. Some states also offer individual Placement Support (IPS), but this service is not yet universally available. This webinar will provide information on various career placement service options, including IPS, CE, and SE approaches.
