Inspired by USF coursework, recent graduate champions mental health literacy for children


When Jayden Haggler enrolled in an introductory mental health and addiction course to fulfill his general education requirements at USF, he expected little more than a routine class on his path to graduation. Offered through the Department of Behavioral Health Science and Practice, the course introduced Haggler to historical perceptions of mental health and inspired him to publish a book aimed at introducing mental health concepts to children. The INSPIRE Project (Innovative Supervisory Practices for Improving Retention & Engagement), supported by the Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce, is focused on understanding how supervision, mentoring, and other supports influence clinicians’ decisions to stay or leave the field. Your insights will help shape a web-based training module to strengthen supervisory practices and improve workforce retention. Take the confidential survey today—or share it with your colleagues!
