Social work adjunct professor speaks at international conferences


Fednold Thelisdort, MS, an adjunct professor for the School of Social Work, presented at two international conferences this summer. With the guidance of his dissertation chair, Amber Dumford, PhD, and his mentor, Guitele Rahill, PhD, LCSW, Thelisdort presented his research related to higher education in Scotland and France. Read more.

Student is first to complete research with support from Florida High Tech Corridor’s Undergraduate Research Initiative awarded through CBCS


Undergraduate student Michael Weiner was awarded funding distributed by the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences from the Florida High Tech Corridor’s Undergraduate Research Initiative, which supports meaningful research experiences for undergraduate students. The scholarship helped with cost-of-living expenses while he participated in the Summer Research Institute at the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute under the mentorship of Associate Professor Khary Rigg, PhD. USF Faculty/Staff Appreciation Game

The faculty/staff appreciation game will be on Sept. 23 when USF football faces off against Rice University. Faculty and staff may claim two free tickets to the game but also have the ability to purchase up to eight more tickets at a discounted rate. This promotion is not available for student employees, as students can already claim free tickets to USF football games. More info.

2023 Cycling for Autism

Over the past 11 years the Tampa Midtown Rotary Club has raised over $200,000 with its annual Cycling for Autism event to support individuals in our community who have an autism

spectrum disorder. Proceeds this year will benefit the Applied Behavior Analysis Program, the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) at the University of South Florida, and the Tampa Midtown Rotary Foundation.
