ASL Interpreting trip to St. Augustine

ASL Interpreting students gain hands-on experience during educational trip


Thirty students from the American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting program embarked on an educational journey to St. Augustine, Florida. During their visit, the students toured the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, where they engaged with both faculty and students, gaining firsthand insight into Deaf education. The group also completed skill-building activities and connected with Deaf and hard-of-hearing residents of the St. Augustine community. Read more.

"'Our findings add to evidence that helping ageing patients hear better can also enrich their social lives and boost their mental and physical wellbeing,' said New York University’s Nicholas Reed, who was part of a team featuring doctors and scientists from research centres including the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the University of South Florida and the University of Pittsburgh."
