Trafficking in Persons Risk to Resilience Lab at USF releases groundbreaking report on human trafficking in Florida


A first-of-its-kind report commissioned by the state of Florida shines a light on the high risk and occurrences of human trafficking in the state as well as the growing, coordinated response to combat the crime and aid victims. “The 2024 State Report on Human Trafficking” estimates that more than 500,000 people were exploited in labor trafficking and 200,000 in sex trafficking within the state in the last year. Nancy Marencin wins ASHA 'Advancing Academic-Research Careers' award


Nancy Marencin, PhD, CCC-SLP, assistant professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, has been selected as one of 10 recipients of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) 2025 Advancing Academic-Research Careers Award. The national award supports the retention of early-career, PhD-level faculty in the communication sciences and disorders field through mentored teaching and research development. Read more.
