Congratulations, Spring 2025 graduates!


A total of 530 students will earn degrees from the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences (CBCS) during USF's Spring 2025 Commencement. The commencement ceremonies will include 358 students receiving undergraduate degrees, 154 students receiving master's degrees, and 18 students receiving doctoral degrees from CBCS. Read more.

The Hillsborough HIPPY Parent Involvement Project based at USF is set to expand its reach by 50% this May, thanks to a significant funding increase from the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. Read more.

New web resource empowers older adults and caregivers to prepare for disasters


Lindsay Peterson, PhD, research assistant professor in the School of Aging Studies, and undergraduate students Coral Morley and Arianna Verdecia, recently created a disaster preparedness website for First Contact (formerly 211 Tampa Bay Cares), with funding from the state of Florida. Read more.

Doctoral student David Ajayi presents aphasia study at national convention


David Ajayi, a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at USF, presented his research at the 47th Annual Convention of the National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH) on April 24 in Long Beach, California. He is mentored by Gerald C. Imaezue, PhD, an assistant professor in the department. Read more.

If you have news/events or recent/upcoming publications you would like posted on the CBCS website and/or in the Communique newsletter, send the details and any attachments to CBCS Marketing (CBCSMarketing@usf.edu). Please send all newsletter submissions no later than Thursday for inclusion in the following week's newsletter.


Be sure to include all pertinent information (title, date, times, location, event description, and contact information) in editable digital text format. Articles included in the CBCS Communiqué may be disseminated to USF Media outlets and/or beyond.
