Session 5 of the Mental Health and Wellness in the Workplace course is now available


The fifth session of the Mental Health and Wellness in the Workplace course is now available! This module introduces the procedure for how to approach someone in the workplace who may be living with mental health, behavioral health, or addiction challenges. Participants will gain an understanding of how to approach these situations in a workplace setting. Start the lesson.

CSD associate professor participates in NIH-NIDCD workshop on stuttering


On June 28 and 29, Nathan Maxfield, PhD, CCC-SLP, an associate professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), participated in the 2023 National Institutes of Health-National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIH-NIDCD) Workshop on Stuttering. The workshop invited about 50 internationally recognized researchers from around the world to inform NIDCD funding priorities in the area of stuttering. Read more.

Lori Rogovin

Social work associate professor named co-chair of BPD committee


Lori Rogovin, MSW, ACSW, an associate professor and field program coordinator in the School of Social Work, was appointed as co-chair of the Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD) Field Education Committee. Rogovin will serve alongside co-chair Mary Jacque Carroll. The association represents the interests of undergraduate education and practice in social work.

Criminology professor discusses human trafficking database in podcast episode


Criminology Professor Joan Reid, PhD, LMHC, CRC went on the Beyond the News WFLA Interviews podcast to talk about the new human trafficking bill that went into effect July 1, the Trafficking in Persons - Risk to Resilience Lab, and human trafficking research in the state of Florida. In the episode, Reid calls the provision of the bill that supports her lab the "let's stop fighting human trafficking in the dark" portion. Listen to the episode.
