Dr. Lindsay Peterson

Aging studies researcher developing disaster preparedness app to aid older Floridians


The Community Foundation of Sarasota County has awarded Lindsay Peterson, PhD, a research assistant professor in the School of Aging Studies, a $7,500 grant to support her development of a disaster preparedness app to help older Floridians and their caregivers better prepare for hurricanes and other potential disasters. The app will provide information caregivers can use to tailor an evacuation or shelter-in-place plan for themselves and/or the person in their care. Read more.

CRMHC students receive scholarships for community service and academic excellence


Two students in the Master of Arts in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (CRMHC) program have been awarded scholarships to support their studies during the 2024-2025 academic year. Paris Broussard was chosen to receive the 2024-2025 Lynn Bartolotta Scholarship, and Amanda Glatthaar was selected to receive the 2024-2025 Dr. Dae Sheridan Endowed Scholarship and the Dr. Calvin Pinkard Scholarship. James Angelo Suarez

CBCS student admitted to doctoral candidacy


James-Angelo Suarez, MPH, has been admitted to doctoral candidacy in the PhD in Behavioral and Community Sciences program. After earning a bachelor's degree in psychology, Suarez came to USF and completed a Master of Public Health and a graduate certificate in translational research. His current research interests include school-based implementation of evidence-based practices, child and adolescent behavioral health, and the health and well-being of key populations.

Noah Miller

Finance and business team welcomes new hire


Noah Miller has joined CBCS as a fiscal and business specialist on the management information services team in the Dean’s Office. Noah graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics from Arizona State University, earned a data analytics certification from USF, and recently worked for Bank of America.


Noah is responsible for providing support to the financial operations of various departments within the college and ensuring compliance with financial controls by monitoring, tracking, and reconciling departmental resources. Welcome, Noah!
