Supraja Anand named senior member of National Academy of Inventors



Supraja Anand, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, is one of nine USF faculty members named to the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) class of 2025 senior members. The new members will be celebrated during the Senior Member Induction Ceremony at NAI’s 14th Annual Conference taking place June 23-26 in Atlanta. Read more.

Peterson and Dobbs

School of Aging Studies faculty review the needs of older adults in five Florida counties


Lindsay Peterson, PhD, research assistant professor in the School of Aging Studies, and Debra Dobbs, PhD, professor and interim director of the School of Aging Studies, collaborated with the Senior Connection Center, a nonprofit organization, to produce a sweeping review of the needs of older adults in the center’s five-county service area which includes Hardee, Hillsborough, Highlands, Manatee, and Polk counties. Anthropology Day

CSD faculty and students participate in Anthropology Day



Faculty and students from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) participated in Anthropology Day on Feb. 17. Hosted by the Department of Anthropology and several student organizations, the event provided an opportunity for students across disciplines to explore anthropological work and research, engage in discussion, and learn about the interdisciplinary nature of the fields.

Nominations open for CBCS Student Employee of the Year


The CBCS Office of Human Resources is accepting nominations for the Student Employee of the Year award until March 28. This award recognizes one Federal Work Study student/student assistant (9190) and one graduate assistant for their achievement in reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and uniqueness of the student’s overall contribution to the department. Recipients will be announced during Student Employee Appreciation Week in April. Nominations should be submitted using this form.


The awardees will receive an award certificate, a photo on the CBCS Wall of Fame, and a cake/balloon presentation by a human resources team member.
