Marriage and Family Therapy program earns accreditation


The Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy program, which is housed in the Department of Child and Family Studies, has earned accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE), the national accrediting body for the field of marriage and family therapy. The MFT master’s program was established at USF in fall 2020 to meet a growing demand for marriage and family therapists in the state of Florida. Read more.

FMHI welcomes students for 2024 Summer Research Institute


The Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute welcomed thirteen undergraduate students to campus last week as part of the 2024 Summer Research Institute (SRI@FMHI). The SRI@FMHI is designed for students interested in building their research skills within the context of substance use and co-occurring disorders to help them prepare for a senior thesis and/or graduate school. The program received over 130 applications during the recruitment cycle this year, which will be the final year of the SRI@FMHI program funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Read more.

Telisha Mckenzie receives USF Senate Quiet Quality Award

CFS administrative specialist receives Staff Senate Quiet Quality Award


Telisha McKenzie, MS, CRA-USF Advanced, administrative specialist in the Department of Child and Family Studies, received a USF Senate Quiet Quality Award. The awards were presented at the 25th Annual Staff Senate Quiet Quality Awards Reception on May 17. McKenzie works with the CFS pre-award team on grant proposals and submissions. Read more.

Jungmee Lee elected as a Fellow of Acoustical Society of America

Audiology program director and assistant professor of instruction elected as ASA Fellow


Jungmee Lee, PhD, audiology program director and assistant professor of instruction in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, was elected as a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) for her contributions to auditory processing of simple and complex signals. Lee's ASA fellowship certificate and pin were presented to her during the Plenary Session at the 186th ASA meeting in Ottawa, Canada. School of Social Work supports communities in Brazil


Thank you to the students, faculty, and staff who contributed to the School of Social Work's donation drive to support relief efforts in communities in Brazil that experienced record rainfall resulting in a flooding emergency. The photo shows just half of the items that were received! These donations will make a huge difference in the lives of the people of Rio Grande do Sul.
