Criminology faculty member reflects on journey working in higher education
Colby Valentine, PhD, an assistant professor of instruction in the Department of Criminology, recently shared her experience working in higher education in an episode of The Criminology Academy podcast. Valentine reflects on her career in academia and discusses research, tenure, and moving between different universities. Valentine talked about her current role at USF, noting, "I really do have very amazing engaged students at USF, and I always get students who want to learn, and they do their part in participating." ABA student receives award at FABA Conference
Gabriela Salazar, a student in the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) online master's program, was honored with the Jose Martinez-Diaz Memorial Award at the 44th Annual Florida Association for Behavior Analysis (FABA) Conference. This award celebrates individuals with a deep passion for behavior analysis, following in the footsteps of Martinez-Diaz, whose influence continues to inspire many in the field. Read more.

Volunteers age 65+ needed for study on preventing Alzheimer's disease
The Preventing Alzheimer's with Cognitive Training (PACT) team is recruiting volunteers to participate in their research study to see if computerized training exercises reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease. Interested adults who are 65 years or older, do not have any neurological disorders, have not had a stroke or brain injury, and do not have mild cognitive impairment or dementia, should visit www.PACTstudy.org for more information.
