Criminology associate professor joins Communications Coordination Committee of the United Nations

Dr. Fawn Ngo

Fawn Ngo, PhD, an associate professor in the Department of Criminology, was elected to the board of directors of the Communications Coordination Committee of the United Nations. As a member at large, Ngo will work with board members to organize sessions and panels and will attend UN meetings and events.

MHLP associate professor invited to National Academy of Medicine Action Collaborative

Dr. Khary Rigg

Khary Rigg, PhD, an associate professor in the Department of Mental Health Law and Policy, recently accepted an invitation by the National Academy of Medicine to join their Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic. Rigg will work with other members of the Action Collaborative to produce discussion papers, conduct outreach, and lead events to work toward reversing the opioid crisis. Rigg will serve on their Prevention, Data, & Research Working Group for a three-year term.

Puranik and School of Aging Studies

School of Aging Studies participates in international research and innovation exchange


International scholar Nawdeep Puranik is visiting the School of Aging Studies from the University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business to collaborate on the Models and Methods for an Active Ageing workforce: an International Academy (MAIA) Project with School of Aging Studies Interim Director Debra Dobbs, PhD. For the next two months, Puranik will be working with Dobbs and other faculty in the School of Aging Studies and developing collaborations related to aging research across USF. Read more.

Over the past 11 years, the Tampa Midtown Rotary Club has raised over $200,000 with its annual Cycling for Autism event to support individuals in our community who have an autism spectrum disorder. Proceeds this year will benefit the Applied Behavior Analysis Program and the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at the University of South Florida, and the Tampa Midtown Rotary Foundation.
