The 2022 College Fair is Monday, September 12!
Westlake Academy will be hosting its annual college fair on campus on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 1:00 – 3:00pm. Juniors and Seniors will have the opportunity to visit with colleges from all over the United States. Here are some of the schools that will be in attendance:

Full Dress Monday's Start Date

After School Activities!
After school activity registration is back! We have some returning favorites like Debate, Baking, Board Games, Scottish Dancing, Tech Club/Coding and Chess! We also have new additions like: Orchestra, Choir, Robotics, Asian Arts, Investment, and Guitar Club among others! Whatever your interests, there is an after school activity for you!
Registration opens on Friday, September 9, at 9.30am on SchoolsBuddy.

Updated Safety Page
Providing a safe and secure environment for our students, staff, and visitors is among our top priorities. We work closely with safety officials – police, fire, emergency medical services, and public health – to ensure our school is well prepared for an emergency. We have developed a comprehensive plan that covers a wide variety of emergencies that serves as a guide to help staff and our public safety partners respond swiftly should a crisis occur. Have Extra Picture Frames? Help a DP Student with an Art Project!
"My name is Andy Huang. As part of my DP visual arts work, I am creating art to explore what makes art, "art." To do so, I will need picture frames of various sizes and materials. Square or rectangular frames are preferred, but if you have any spare picture frames, I would really appreciate it if you could drop them off in the bin in front of the MYP front office. Our collection period will end September 20, 2022."

Save the date! Primary teachers will host virtual curriculum night meetings for parents on Tuesday, September 13. Meetings for Grades K, 3, and 5 will be from 5:00-5:45 pm. Grades 1, 2, and 4 will be from 6:00-6:45 pm. Google Meet links will be sent to parents on Monday, September 12. We hope you can join the presentations to learn grade-level specifics from the homeroom teachers.

AP Exams
If you are a student in Grades 9, 10 or 11, and will be taking an AP Exam, pay close attention! There are only two steps to get registered for the exams! First, register for your exams by logging into your My AP Login on College Board. Then, Pay for your exams through SchoolsBuddy! PAYMENTS DUE by OCTOBER 4, 2022, but the sooner the better!

WAHOC MYP Parent Coffee Meeting
There will be an HOC sponsored MYP Parent Coffee meeting, Friday, October 7, at 8 am at the school field house classroom. Please join us for a discussion about MYP Managebac, HUB link, the IB Curriculum, and IB grading. Mr. Ituah, MYP Principal, Mrs. Stack, MYP Curriculum Coordinator, and MYP Counselors, Ms. Phillips and Mrs. Johnson, and Ms. Maru will be there to review and answer questions.
