We are still looking for donations!
The CiB Virtual Auction will start October 8th and conclude October 18th. This is a special fundraiser that serves a two-fold purpose: the opportunity to showcase places and spaces in your community and a chance to support the Communities in Bloom Foundation. All proceeds will go to the Foundation, which supports: student bursaries in post-secondary education programs, youth initiatives, green initiatives, workshops, seminars, articles and other educational content on the value of green spaces in society.
We are asking for YOUR support to help ensure that this fundraiser is a memorable one!
We’re looking for items to include in the auction. Items could be any or all of the following:
·Garden related gift certificates; trees, shrubs, statuary, special design services
·Gift certificates to local attractions, a favorite restaurant or a special boutique
·Perhaps a cottage rental for a week in one of Canada’s vacation destinations or a special spa stay, perhaps a weekend getaway at a local resort
·Paintings and other works by local artists; books by local authors; music by local musicians!
·Anything that speaks to how special your community is and that will help draw people in.
We’re open to all of your creative ideas that will help ensure great success for Communities in Bloom and the legacy it provides. If you are able to help personally or know someone who can help, please send a note to bloom@cib-cef.com before October 1st so we can get your product and donation onto the CiB auction website as soon as possible.

Following up on CiB’s successful 2021 invitation to “Plant Yellow”, the Year of the Garden 2022 now invites all Canadians to plant something RED to express their Canadian garden pride and the joy of celebrating the Year of the Garden 2022.
Across Canada, the goal is to see the land awash with gardens featuring red, Canada’s colour. Flowers, fruits, shrubs, vegetables, trees - just plant the seeds! From parks to playgrounds, front yards, back yards, balconies, baskets, boulevards, barrels and planters, wherever there’s an empty space, there is an opportunity to plant red and join the celebration of the Year of the Garden 2022!
In 2022, anyone and everyone, including municipalities, organizations, schools, churches, colleges and universities, clubs, businesses, and individuals can participate by planting red and showing their Canadian garden pride. Share photos of what you have planted on Year of the Garden 2022’s social media platforms with the hashtag #PlantRed

We are looking at a continued renewal and direction of Communities in Bloom as we go through a strategic planning session this Fall. Please let us know your top three challenges your community is dealing with right now so that our Board can review.
Your feedback will help us make valuable changes to our program moving forward.
We are grateful for your support!

Do you have a great volunteer you'd like us to celebrate?
Send the information to bloom@cib-cef.com and we'll feature them in an upcoming e-News, or on Social Media!
