It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Christmas in Ionia is truly magical, like something out of a Hallmark movie or snowglobe. There are so many activities planned for local businesses, families and visitors.
Are you hosting any holiday sales or events? Like we did for Halloween, we plan to put together a "Holiday Festivities" promotion featuring our members for social media. It will be posted the week of Thanksgiving and re-shared as needed throughout the month of December. To have your event / special offer included in the promotion - simply send us the information by Friday, November 17th at 5pm to be included.
Christmas Parade & Festivities
Click here to register for the Twinkle Town Christmas Parade.
Once you click on that link, you'll be redirected to a page that contains the FULL line-up of activities that have been organized by various partner organizations this holiday season, including the Twinkle Town Light Fest.
Holiday Shopping Passport -
Did you know that roughly 50% of the population will start their Christmas shopping in November? It's a good thing our Holiday Shopping Passport kicks off this Friday, November 10th! Scroll down for more details and please help us share the program and encourage folks to support local this holiday season!

Coming Soon!

The 5-Chamber After Hours RETURNS on February 29 @ "The Stone" (Candlestone Golf Resort) - featuring Ionia, Belding, Greenville, Lowell & Rockford Chambers of Commerce. This event has been on hiatus since 2019, but returns in 2024 with a new feel. Gone are the days of the intricate themes (if you remember, you know what we're talking about). Now, it's going to be a "GAME NIGHT" theme... stay tuned for more info!
-

Office Hours are changing - In an effort to more effectively serve our membership and better manage expectations, we are making some changes to the way we do business. As you may know know, our job regularly requires the office to be closed while our staff attends important meetings and events to serve our members and community. We currently have one full-time staff member, and more and more we are receiving requests to meet with our members at their place of business, as it's often more convenient than asking them to leave their work to come to us. That said, our staff spends a lot of time out in the community working to grow our membership base, promoting chamber programs and events, collaborating with economic partners, and working with existing members to take advantage of resources and programs to help their business grow. But, we also understand that sometimes you want to drop in, and we want to make sure that we're at the office when you do!
- As of January 1, 2024, the Ionia Area Chamber of Commerce office will be open by appointment only, with the exception of:
- Tuesdays from 10AM to 3PM
- Wednesdays from 2PM to 5:30PM
- This change will also allow us to focus on hiring part-time support staff that is goal-oriented versus "receptionist" oriented. Our goal is to provide flexible work conditions that we hope will help us attract and retain qualified help that will have a greater impact on the objectives of the Chamber. For instance, we may hire a part-time Event Coordinator, as well as a commission-only Ad Sales position in 2024. This would allow our E.D. to fully focus on everything else, including membership, marketing, strategic projects, collaborations, planning, financials, business support services/resources, etc.. For example, when it comes to calling the Chamber, you'd be able to call the main number and then would have the option to connect directly with the event coordinator for event related inquiries, ad sales coordinator for advertising, and the Executive Director for everything else. These calls will be directly forwarded to each staff members cell phone to eliminate the "middle-man".
