Armed Robbery at Mildred and Wrightwood

Dear Neighbors,

I am writing to make you aware of an armed robbery that occurred at the intersection of Mildred Avenue and Wrightwood Avenue at approximately 3:30 PM today. The 19th District of the Chicago Police Department responded to the call immediately and arrived on the scene within minutes.

The offender, who was armed with a semi-automatic weapon, robbed a woman in her twenties, stealing her wedding ring and iPhone. The woman was not physically harmed.

The Commander of the 19th District, with whom I am in constant contact, described the offender as a Hispanic male wearing black pants, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and black shoes.

The 19th District is continuing to investigate this incident, and has increased patrols in the area. I remain in close contact with the Commander and will continue to update you with additional information as it becomes available.

Should you witness anything suspicious in your vicinity, please contact 9-1-1 immediately to report your concerns to the proper authorities.

Additionally, on Monday, June 14th, there will be a 19th District CAPS meeting for beat 1932. The meeting is at 7:00 PM at New Life Church, located at 1110 W. Lill. I am attending and I would encourage you to join me.
