Community Alert - Sexual Assault
Dear Neighbor,

We have just been notified of a sexual assault that occurred in the 1900 block of North Orchard last night at around midnight.  The 18th District police have provided the following information at this time:

A female adult was attempting to enter a  residence when an unknown offender approached the victim from behind, produced a  weapon, and sexually assaulted her. The offender then fled in an unknown direction  with the victim's property.

The offender is male, possibly Hispanic, unknown age, armed with a knife.

The police have launched an intensive investigation and are seeking any video from residents anywhere in the immediate vicinity.

What You Can Do

Always be aware of your surroundings
Walk in pairs or groups
Dial 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity immediately
Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
