Some Notes.........

Pool Restrooms Closed For Freeze Related Repairs
The extreme weather we experienced on December 23rd/24th caused some damage to the pipes in the Pavilion building, including the ones in the restrooms.
Therefore, we have had to close the restrooms until the necessary repairs are completed.
Repairs are currently underway and the restrooms should be back on-line by the end of this week. We did file another insurance claim and the adjuster was here earlier this week. He was impressed with the additional insulation and heating wires that we had installed since last winter, and none of those pipes that were affected by the extremely cold temperatures last year broke this time. We will continue to work on the pipes that were affected this time to hopefully limit further damage from extreme weather events, which seem to becoming the norm here in Central Texas.

New Amenities Update
  • The Board has improved the installation of light timers for the sports court and the sand volleyball court. The parts are have been ordered by our electrical contractor and these timers should be installed in the near future on the sports court, and also as soon as the lights for the sand volleyball court, that are ordered, are delivered and installed.
  • Once these timers are installed, there will be a button on the court that residents will need to push in order to turn on the lights during the evening hours - currently set between 5:30pm to 10:00pm daily.
  • The timers will be set to 45 minutes, and the lights will remain on for that period of time. At the end of the 45 minutes the lights will turn off. If the residents want to continue to play they will just need to push the button again to restart the lights. If they do not want to continue, then the lights will remain off until other residents want to play 'under the lights' and push the button on the court.
  • With these timers, the court lights will remain off when no-one is playing, such as on rainy or cold days, which will save electricity.
  • We are also working on constructing and installing some 'shields' that will be installed around the light fixtures themselves to keep the lights more focused on the court and cut down on the peripheral light currently being seen away from the court itself. The ones provided by the light manufacturer did not cut down on the peripheral light as much as we hoped, so we are going to build our own.
  • The gate to the sports court will soon have a lock on it that will require your pool key card to open during its operational hours, which are currently from 7:00am to 10:00pm daily.
  • The two additional light fixtures that were ordered to light up the playground and also the sand volleyball court should be delivered and installed in January. We will again make adjustments and add 'shields' to these lights once they are installed to concentrate the lights on these two amenities and limit as much peripheral light as possible so it does not reach the surrounding areas.

Concrete Pads For Additional Benches
You may have noticed that the new bench that was installed by the Traditions pond has been removed. We have stored this bench away until we can get a concrete pad poured for it, so that it can be secured. We have received two quotes from concrete companies so far, and will get one more for comparison. Then the Board will select a vendor and we will get this pad poured, as well as the other six we will need for the six new benches we budgeted to add around the community this year.
