DOGS OFF LEASH AGAIN......
We are still receiving complaints about residents walking on the community trails with their dogs off leash! So this is another reminder that the trails within Vizcaya are City trails and therefore subject to the City's rules concerning dogs needing to be on their leash at all times when on these trails. These incidents of dogs being off-leash also is in violation of the Vizcaya rules that pets must be on leash at all times when not in your home or fenced yard. We would appreciate all dog owners making sure that their dogs are on a leash and under your control at all times when out in the community.

If residents want to take their dogs somewhere where they can be run off-leash, please find below a list of nearby off-leash parks that you might want to check out:
  • Round Rock Dog Depot at Creek Park
  • Georgetown Bark Park
  • Cedar Bark Park, Cedar Park
  • Brushy Creek Lake Park, Cedar Park
  • Doghouse Drinkery Dog Park, Leander
  • Harry Ridge Dog Park, Pflugerville

LAWN MAINTENANCE/CONSTRUCTION HOURS
With the longer days and it getting lighter and staying lighter as we get into summer, we wanted to remind residents that the hours for lawn mowing, edging, blowing cuttings, or any landscape or other type of construction are as follows, unless a written waiver is obtained in advance from management:
Monday through Friday: 7:00am until 7:00pm
Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am to 6:00pm
We would appreciate residents being considerate of their fellow residents by following this approved schedule, or if you use a lawn service making sure that they are aware of this schedule and follow it.
WE ARE STILL UNDER STAGE 1 DROUGHT RESTRICTIONS
We received a reminder from the City that the Stage 1 Drought Restrictions, that were enacted on June 29, 2022, are still in effect! This means that outdoor irrigation is limited to two times a week, at most.

While the rains that we have received in May have helped, the level of Lake Georgetown - our main source for water - has not increased much. These restrictions will therefore stay in place until the lake levels significantly improve.

Please check that your irrigation watering system is set to your required day(s).

Outdoor Watering Schedule
Property Address Ends In ----- Permitted Water Days
...........0 or 3 ..................................Monday/Thursday
...........4 or 8 ..................................Sunday/Thursday
..........1, 5 or 9 .............................Wednesday/Saturday
..........2, 6 or 7 ..................................Tuesday/Friday

Also Note:
  • No Irrigation Allowed between 10:00am and 7:00pm
  • Drip Irrigation is not exempt from the restrictions and needs to follow the same schedule.
The goal of the Irrigation Station Workshop is to educate residents about reducing landscape irrigation by demonstrating different water conservation strategies.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS RAISED BY RESIDENTS FOR BOARD CONSIDERATION

POSSIBLE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF MOKAN RAILWAY EASEMENT THROUGH VIZCAYA - The Board is advising residents who want to express their concerns about this potential future project, that has recently become active again and is being evaluated for feasibility, to reach out to the Texas Department of Transportation, City and County representatives as tax-paying and voting residents of the City of Round Rock and Williamson County.

Below, for your information, are extracts from a recent letter from Akila Thiamizharasan, the Director, Advance Project Development, Austin District for the Texas Department of Transportation, in response to enquiries about the project:

Throughout the past few months, TxDOT has been evaluating the feasibility of using the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MoKan) corridor to develop a connected and automated vehicle (CAV) pilot corridor. This pilot corridor could facilitate the use of CAV technologies to design the next generation of roadway infrastructure to ensure we continue to provide safety, mobility, connectivity and sustainability benefits for our communities.

The MoKan corridor is an abandoned railway that extends approximately 28 miles from Georgetown to east Austin. This north-south corridor is located between and runs parallel to I-35 and SH 130, and connects the cities of Georgetown, Round Rock, Pflugerville and Austin

The MoCAV Feasibility Study is considering various alternative alignments and typical sections, and it plans to include shared-use paths providing for regional north-south pedestrian and bicycle use throughout the 28-mile-long corridor.

TxDOT is very early in the project development process and will be working with the communities to further refine alignments and receive feedback. As the study progresses, TxDOT seeks to partner with stakeholders and develop an optimal multi-modal facility that addresses public needs.

Funding has not been identified for this project and the study needs to progress through feasibility, schematics, environmental clearance, design, and construction phases.

For more information about the MoCAV Feasibility Study, please contact Nicholas Barbera, nbarbe-c@txdot.gov.

CLEAN-UP OF GREENSPACE AREA BEHIND ORSINI BLUFFS
A group of residents whose homes back up to the greenspace area adjacent to McNutt Creek had sent a petition to the Board requesting the semi-annual maintenance of this greenspace area as part of the Maintenance Association landscape contract. Currently the contract includes the maintenance of a ten foot wide strip along the rear of the back fence line of these homes and others that back up to the greenspace, as well as the drainage areas that run in a couple of areas along Orsini Bluffs to the greenspace, but does not include the maintenance of the actual greenspace, except for clean-up after storms, etc. The Board decided to continue with the maintenance program as contained in the current contract, and to revisit any changes when this contract expires in May 2024.
