Bayfield Poetry Trail 2022

September 1 - September 30

A "trail" of poems is posted at 26 businesses from Cornucopia to Bayfield/Madeline Island to Washburn and Ashland.

Bayfield Poetry Trail is back in 2022. For the month of September, enjoy reading poems showcased in shop windows of 26 businesses (Bayfield Chamber members) in a poetry "trail" that circles from Cornucopia to Bayfield and Madeline Island to Washburn and Ashland. Businesses display a wonderful variety of classic and contemporary poems—where they can be read at any hour. A map of the locations is posted at the Chamber and at participating businesses.

Those who wish to enter the "contest" can pick up an entry form at these locations. Simply write down the titles of at least 22 poems and turn in the form to the Chamber by 5 p.m. on September 30. Entries drawn at random will be awarded a special prize. And everyone wins simply by reading poems!

Bayfield Poetry Trail 2022 is organized as part of Art Escape and Bayfield Festival of the Arts by Lucy Tyrrell, Bayfield Poet Laureate 2020–2021, with support and collaboration from the Bayfield Chamber and Visitor Bureau.

A big stanza of thanks to all those Bayfield Chamber members who are participating in the 2022 Bayfield Poetry Trail: Ehlers General Store, Hestekin Pottery, Bayfield Island View Lodging, Madeline Island Information Station, Keeper of the LIght, CF Design Ltd, Apostle Islands Realty, Bayfield Inn, Silverwaves, Sweet and Salty, Bayfield Wine and Spirits, Honest Dog Books, Bayfield Carnegie Library, Bayfield Heritage Association, Bayfield Presbyterian Church, Recreation and Fitness Center, Madeline Island School for the Arts, Woods Hall Gallery & Gifts, Madeline Island Museum, Eckels Pottery & Fine Crafts Gallery, Big Top Chautauqua Box Office, Washburn Cultural Center, Kiddiwink Kids, Artists on the Byway Gallery, Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, Chequamegon Food Co-op.
