Holiday Party & Tree Lighting - December 20th | | |

On December 20th, the Parks Committee hosted a holiday celebration at the board office. With snow gently falling outside, families gathered to enjoy the warmth of community spirit. Inside, guests sipped hot chocolate, indulged in sweet treats, and shared in the joy of the season. With Santa and his helpers handing out toys to the children, and festive caroling filling the air, it brought everyone together in holiday cheer.
Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event so special!

1st Annual Community Fair - October 19th | |

On October 19th, Utica Avenue buzzed with energy as neighbors gathered for our Community Fair, stretching between Church Avenue and Linden Boulevard. The event was designed to connect community members with valuable resources to help them thrive.
The fair offered something for everyone and was a wonderful opportunity to bring people together, ensuring they had the tools and information needed to succeed.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a success!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day | | |

If Monday is your regular trash, recycling, or compost collection day, place your items at the curb Monday evening for collection starting Tuesday, January 21.
Please note that collection delays are common after the holidays.

Due to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, alternate side parking is suspended on January 20th, 2025. All other parking regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect.
All government offices and NYC Public Schools are closed.

The NYC Bin is the official bin exclusively for one- and two-family homes and properties with up to 9 residential units to set out their trash. City agencies, nonprofits, houses of worship, and professional offices in residential buildings are also required to use NYC Bins. All properties with 1-9 residential units will be required to use the Official NYC Bin by June 2026.

Raise in Minimum Wage
From 01/01/2025 to 12/31/2025, the New York State basic minimum wage is:
- $16.50 per hour in New York City
- $16.50 per hour in Long Island and Westchester County
- $15.50 per hour in the Remainder of New York State
And, the minimum wage for fast food workers is:
- $16.50 per hour in all of New York City, Long Island and Westchester County
- $15.50 per hour in the rest of New York State
Private sector employees in the state, including domestic workers (in most cases), must receive the basic minimum wage.
