All NYC students ages 2 months to 18 years must receive certain vaccinations. That includes children in public, private or parochial school, as well as those in day care, Head Start, pre-K or nursery school. Any child who does not meet these requirements will be sent home from school.

The only children who do not require vaccination are those with medical exemptions. There are no religious exemptions for vaccination requirements in New York.

Visit your health care provider before school starts to get your child vaccinated. If you need help finding a health care provider for your child, call 311 or visit NYC Health + Hospitals. You can also visit the NYC Health Department Immunization Clinic. Services are available regardless of immigration or insurance status

Community Board 17 held its monthly Public Hearing and General Board Meeting on Wednesday! In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, our elected officials, board members, and community members showed their support by wearing pink and purple. Assemblymember Monique Chandler-Waterman administered the oath of office to our new executive body. Here’s to another year of working diligently for our community!
