Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver and Acquired Brain Disorder (ABD) Waiver Listening Sessions

The Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver and the Acquired Brain Disorder (ABD) Waiver are beginning the renewal process, with anticipated completion dates of Fall 2026. Prior to drafting any changes to the current waivers, the Bureau of Developmental Services is launching a series of informal listening sessions to gather feedback, experiences, and thoughts from individuals, families, providers, and Area Agencies. This is the time to share your thoughts on what is working and what could be improved. These sessions will be facilitated by the Institute on Disability at UNH.

Sessions are being held in three locations to accommodate a broad geographical area, as well as three virtual sessions.

Virtual sessions are scheduled to be held on:

  • September 10th, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm,
  • September 11th, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, and
  • September 18th, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

In-person sessions are scheduled for:

  • September 11th, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in Bedford,
  • September 17th, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in Concord, and
  • September 19th, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Gorham.

CSNI and ATinNH are partnering to host a free webinar opportunity that may be of interest to individuals with disabilities, families, guardians, Home Care Providers, DSPs, and Service Coordinators. Join Marissa Berg from CSNI and Sara Valli from ATinNH at the UNH Institute on Disability on Monday, September 22nd, from 4-5 PM for an overview of the Lending Library at ATinNH. This is a free service that allows people who could benefit from Assistive Technology to “test drive” different AT equipment before buying or requesting waiver funding. This allows individuals to be certain that the device is just what they need and will work for them. Available devices include mobility devices, speech and language devices, home access devices, and more. Sara will review what is available and how devices can be provided to individuals at no cost. Pre-registration is required; please register here: https://csni.org/upcoming-events

Changes are coming to Medicaid expansion renewals in New Hampshire. Individuals in the Granite Advantage Health Care Program (Medicaid expansion) will need to renew their Medicaid coverage every 6 months instead of once a year.

What this means: You'll fill out your redetermination paperwork twice a year to keep your health care coverage. NH DHHS will notify you if this affects you, and you can still renew by mail or online through NH EASY. Click on the flyer above for a closer look.

This new change will start for renewals scheduled on or after December 31, 2026.
