I am truly grateful to be a member of the McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce. From the very beginning, Jesse Miles was warm and welcoming—and to my surprise, she already had my product on her desk and had been using it for years. That immediate connection gave me confidence and reassurance that Botanybabe was valued and on the right path.
The Chamber quickly invited me to participate in a Mega Mixer, where I had the opportunity to speak about my business, connect with other local entrepreneurs, and meet representatives from Humboldt Made, the Small Business Development Center, and many supportive community organizations. These networking relationships have been incredibly valuable—not only for support and guidance, but also for helping create brand awareness through community events, collaborations, and business showcases.
Membership has also provided practical benefits. When I faced a product labeling issue and did not want to list my private residence address, the Chamber’s business directory allowed me to simply list McKinleyville, California, instead—an invaluable solution.
The mixers themselves are both productive and fun. They offer the chance to mingle with local government, businesses, and organizations, exchange ideas, build your network, and discover new opportunities to showcase and grow your business—plus there’s always great food and prizes. I highly recommend the McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce to any local business owner looking for connection, visibility, support, and sustainable growth.
