PROPOSED BUILDING DEFEATED 403 TO 100
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Following the electors meeting on August 30 at which the proposed new building and resulting tax levy increase were rejected, the Town Board met for a special meeting on September 6 to discuss how to proceed. Approximately 25-30 people attended and offered a wide variety of suggestions for satisfying the needs of the Town at a lower cost than $6.8 million. While the input to the Board was welcome and helpful, no definitive direction came from the meeting.
The Board will meet again on Tuesday, September 18 at 6:00 pm to continue discussions. While the public is always welcome and encouraged to attend, discussions at this meeting will be primarily among board members. There may be opportunities for public comment during the meeting, but only if requested by the Chairman.
It is the Town Board's intention to reconsider all of the options presented by Funktion Design Studio over the past two years, and perhaps introduce some combination of ideas to come up with a plan that best meets the needs of the community with a substantially lower impact on the tax levy. Please bear with us!
Many thanks to all who voted at the special elector meeting.
