TOWN MEETING - SCHOOL VOTES

Make Your Voice Heard at Medway’s Annual Town Meeting – May 12, 2025

Final approval of the Town’s budget will occur at the Annual Town Meeting on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Medway High School, beginning at 7:00 pm. In addition to a vote on the FY26 budget, several articles on the warrant directly impact the Medway Public Schools.

The following votes are scheduled:

Special Town Meeting

  • Article 5: Reallocate unused funds from completed capital projects to support heating and cooling system upgrades across Medway Schools.

Annual Town Meeting

  • Article 1: Fund the Hanlon Track and Field replacement.
  • Article 6: Approve the FY26 Medway Schools operating budget.
  • Article 14: Provide funding for bathroom upgrades at McGovern Elementary School.
  • Article 15: Fund the boiler replacement project at Medway High School.

MFPA Annual Campaign

MFPA ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

The Medway Friends of Performing Arts is kicking off its month-long annual campaign for May—$5 for Fortissimo. We are seeking donations to help us continue to fund grants. This year, we funded the performing arts for the students at Medway Public Schools. Donate using Venmo @medwayfriendsofperformingarts (note Annual Campaign). All donations will be entered into a drawing to win a season pass. Help the MFPA make some noise for the Performing Arts!

MFPA Spring Pops Concert

MFPA SPRING POPS CONCERT

Reserve a table and enjoy some nosh on May 7 at the Medway Foundation for Performing Arts spring pops concert. Join us at Medway High School at 7:00 pm. Limited table reservations will be available until May 3. General seating will be available at no cost on the bleachers.

Kindergarten Program

KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM

We have opened registration for the Introduction to Kindergarten Summer Program. This program is the perfect way for your future kindergartener to get a first look at what it is like to be a McGovern student. This summer program is just one of the many exciting events in preparation for the new school year. In the coming weeks, we will share “The Road to Kindergarten,” a flyer that outlines essential events and milestones leading up to the first day of kindergarten.

Substitute nurses wanted at all Medway Public Schools

SUBSTITUTE NURSES WANTED

Medway Public Schools is seeking registered nurses to add to our substitute pool. Ensuring that each of our school buildings has daily nursing support is vital to us, and with limited nurses in our substitute pool, this can be very challenging at times. Medway Public Schools seeks substitute van drivers. Shift coverage schedule: Monday through Friday (4 hrs./day) and is a split shift (morning and afternoon). MEDWAY COMMUNITY EDUCATION'S - MAKE SMARTER WINE CHOICES CLASS

You can learn to navigate the wine aisle carefully. Join us at Franklin Liquors to explore organic, biodynamic, vegan, and other "healthier" wine options. In this class, we will taste, discuss, and equip you with the knowledge to understand labels and choose wines that align with your lifestyle. Medway Community Education - Mini Summer Programs

MEDWAY EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER - MINI-SUMMER PROGRAMS

EXCITING NEWS!

MECC is excited to offer a mini-summer program for children ages 2.5 to 4.9. The program will run from July 1 through August 7, taking place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Medway Police Youth Leadership Academy

MEDWAY POLICE - YOUTH LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

MPD Youth Leadership Academy 2025!

We are so excited to announce our Youth Leadership Academy this summer. We are accepting recruits ages 11 to 13 and offering two sessions: July 7-11 and August 18-22!

Recruits will spend the week participating in team-building exercises, field games, drills, and ceremonies, and learning about different aspects of policing. They can also attend an optional off-site field trip and receive an academy shirt and water bottle!

Norfolk County Sherriff's Youth Leadership Academy

NORFOLK COUNTY SHERRIFF'S OFFICE - YOUTH LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office hosts the Summer 2025 Youth Leadership Academy. The academy is designed for youth ages 10-14 and will be held at Medway High School, 88 Summer Street. Gain valuable leadership skills and have fun on our high ropes course. The Academy focuses on helping youth develop decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and goal-setting skills while also providing participants with public safety classes such as fire safety, K9s in law enforcement, etc.

This summer, we offer four one-week sessions from July 7 to August 1.

SHRED-IT EVENT

The Medway Lions Club is again pleased to bring a “no-cost” shredding event to Medway Middle School on Saturday, May 10, from 9:00 am to noon (or until the trucks are full) for Medway residents. 

Bring all sensitive paperwork that includes account numbers, birth dates, passwords, PINs, signatures, and Social Security and/or driver’s license numbers. To protect your privacy, consider other items that include names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. Please note: Only paper items can be shredded, BUT there is no need to remove staples or paperclips. MEDWAY residents ONLY.

Medway Commuity Farm - Fun on the Farm

SUMMER FUN ON THE FARM

Enjoy all the excitement at the farm this summer! Help us harvest and wash produce, build compost piles, walk the nature trail, learn about the many different herbs and their uses, plant and care for flowers and vegetables, and play fun games! We'll learn about our beehives, maybe get muddy, and enjoy the great open space!

The Department of Public Works will host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, May 10, 2025, rain or shine, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Recycling Center, 46 Broad St. Please note this is only for Medway residents.

Memorial Day Parade is May 26 at 10:00 am

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

The Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 26th at 10:00 am and will honor MetroWest Veterans Services Director Sarah Bateman as the Grand Marshall. The parade will start at the Medway VFW and proceed down Holliston Street to Matondi Square, where it will proceed from the Parks and Recreation Building to Matondi Square in Medway Village. The parade will include men and women who have served in our armed forces and VFW members. Service men and women are encouraged to march in our parade. Ceremonies will be conducted at Matondi Square.

4th Annual Medway Pride Flag Raising

PRIDE DAY FLAG RAISING

JUNE IS PRIDE MONTH! Join us as we celebrate by raising the Pride Flags along Route 109 near Choate Park on Sunday, June 1. From 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, enjoy a celebration with music, crafts, ice cream, and local vendors. We hope to see you there!

Town Election is May 20, 2025

TOWN ELECTION

The Town Election will be held May 20, 2025, from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm at the Medway Middle School at 45 Holliston Street, Door 8.

Please remember that you can request an absentee ballot until 5:00 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, and absentee vote in person until noon on Monday, May 19, 2025. Please feel free to call or email us with any questions. (So that you know, there is a non-binding ballot question regarding ongoing mailings of the finance committee report to the annual town meeting.)

CELEBRATE MEDWAY DAY

The Annual Celebrate Medway Day will occur on Saturday, July 19, from 2 to 9 p.m. at Choate Park and Thayer Homestead. This event is designed to give back to the town, so all the activities are free.
