Community Catch - April 2022
In honor of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, which took place earlier this month, the Broomfield FISH team would like to give a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers for the incredible work they do. Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization, and our work to feed families and fuel hope would not be possibly without their vital support. In 2021, FISH had 500+ volunteers give over 18,000 hours of time to serve our neighbors in need! Please enjoy the video we created as small way to celebrate our wonderful volunteers.

Saturday, May 14th, 2022
Look for Stamp Out Hunger bags in your mailbox at the beginning of May and fill them with non-perishable food donations for Broomfield FISH. Leave your food donations by your mailbox on Saturday, May 14th and your postal carrier will collect it along their route!

If you do not live in Broomfield or cannot participate on the 14th, you can still help us prevent hunger through monetary donations!
Mark your calendars!

We are bringing back our fall luncheon for our 2022 fundraiser Embracing Hope AND we have a new venue! Join us as we come together as a community over lunch on Thursday, October 13th from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the Lionsgate Event Center. Learn more about what we have been up to here at FISH, how we have been able to serve our neighbors in need over the past year, and how you can support feeding families and fueling hope. We cannot wait to celebrate with you this October!
Pinwheels for Prevention

If you came by FISH this month, you may have noticed new pinwheels in our lawn in honor of Pinwheels for Prevention! Our partner organization Broomfield Early Childhood Council, a nonprofit helping children in our community thrive, placed these pinwheels at partner locations throughout Broomfield to raise awareness about Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. We all can do our part to help strengthen families!
Academy Place Has Opened!

Academy Place Apartments, which brings 49 units of affordable housing here to Broomfield, is the result of community-wide collaboration between partners and sponsors. Broomfield FISH is grateful to be a part of this project, and has placed 27 residents there to help them achieve housing security! Academy Place is an important step in the essential, ongoing work to ensure housing access for all of our neighbors.
