Join Us in Helping Families Thrive!
You are invited to join us for our 2023 Embracing Hope luncheon at the Lionsgate Event Center on Thursday, October 26th! Embracing Hope is both a celebration of all of the good we have created together as neighbors helping neighbors and our largest fundraising event of the year. Enjoy a delicious meal, hear community speakers share FISH’s mission and work to help families thrive, and learn more about how you can support our neighbors in need!
|
|
If you cannot make it, but would still like to support the event and help us reach our goal of raising $150,000 to feed families and fuel hope, you can make a donation in advance here!

|
Thank you to our early Embracing Hope sponsors!
Sponsorships not only make our event possible – they support our mission throughout the year! We look forward to highlighting your support to our online community leading up to the event, as well as on-site during our luncheon. Learn more about sponsorship opportunities here.

We had the honor of hosting Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Mayor Castriotta, Representative William Lindstedt, Senator Faith Winter, and city council members here at FISH so they could learn about our mission and the need we are seeing in our community. They also volunteered to help us in our marketplace, sorting food donations that stock our shelves and repackaging egg cartons for our families!

Thank you Sonoco!
We want to give a huge thank you to the folks at Sonoco for their food drive and fundraiser in support of FISH. Together, they collected 460 pounds of food, raised over $11,000 (more than double their fundraising goal), and made a company match of $5,000, bringing their total monetary donation to over $16,000! Their funds helped us purchase canned meat, corn, broth, beans, and more for our marketplace. A special shoutout to Sean for going above and beyond to coordinate the food drive, fundraiser, AND company match! It makes a huge difference in our ability to provide food for all the families that come through our doors, especially at a time when we are seeing more people than ever before.

Farm to (Veggie)Table!
Earlier this month, one of our local produce partners April brought in some colorful fruits and veggies for our marketplace! April has been a FISH volunteer for about a year, and thanks to new grant funding, we are now able to buy Broomfield-grown produce from her farm. She has provided tomatoes, basil, lettuce, radishes, peppers, and more. We are so grateful for the opportunity to source fresh, healthy, locally-grown food for our families!

Have you been busy working in the garden? If you end up with more fruits and veggies than you know what to do with, consider donating them to FISH to help feed families! We are happy to receive produce. You can drop off items on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 am – 4:30 pm and Thursdays between 8 am – 12 pm using the east side donation door.

Volunteer Spotlight: Nicci and Terry (Grumpy) Clark
This month, we are highlighting two long-time volunteers that wear many hats here at FISH! Nicci has been volunteering with us since we were in our old building, and Grumpy joined the volunteer crew in 2017. They do so much to support neighbors in need, from working in the marketplace to riding along in our truck for grocery store pick-ups, all the way to working at the mobile food pantry twice a month! When they are not at FISH, they like to go camping, golfing, and bowling. What they enjoy most is traveling to cool places (the featured picture is from their trip to Africa)! They also enjoy trips with their kids and grandkids.
Thank you Nicci and Grumpy for making a huge difference in our work to feed families and fuel hope!

Staff Spotlight: Dayna Scott
Dayna Scott has been the Executive Director at FISH for 8 years now and has spent most of her adult life working as a leader in the nonprofit world. When she first came to FISH, there were just 3 full time employees in a cramped space, with the food pantry operating out of the old Children's library (now part of the Veterans' Museum.) What she loves most about FISH is the strong sense of community (#FISHfamily4life) and getting to know participants, volunteers, donors, and staff. She has the privilege of living and working in Broomfield and can often be found walking her dog, Sami, playing music with her husband, or enjoying the outdoors hiking, biking, or skiing.
