Community Catch - June 2021
Together We Protect Vaccines

FISH partnered with Broomfield's Vaccine Ambassadors to host a Pfizer vaccine pop-up clinic at A Precious Child in June. More than 100 people received the first dose of the vaccine, and 48% of those who participated were under the age of 18. As a county, Broomfield now reports that nearly 80% of eligible residents are vaccinated! FISH will host a free back-to-school clinic in August. Look for more news of that next month.
Broomfield Farmers' Market is OPEN

Support local businesses AND FISH by visiting the Farmers' Market every Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at Holy Comforter Church on the corner of Hwy 287 and W. 10th Ave. All net proceeds from the market are contributed back to the community and all fresh produce displayed but not sold is contributed directly to FISH! You will find more than 12 vendors, food trucks, and entertainment at the market for family fun.
Support Our FISH Champions!

Our Team Champions are doing amazing work to share FISH's mission with the community and raise funds to reduce hunger and homelessness. Want to learn more about our Neighbors Helping Neighbors campaign? Click here to see our team champions and make a donation. If you prefer to donate by check, you can mail it to Broomfield FISH at 6 Garden Center and write your team champion's name in the memo.
Volunteer Spotlight:
Kristine Rosen

Kristine started volunteering during COVID. She comes to FISH weekly to greet and check in our participants. She is always willing to help anywhere needed--this includes sorting produce, packing boxes, and loading cars. Kristine brings her cheerful smile to every shift and is so dedicated to our mission. FISH is fortunate to have Kristine as part of our FISH family.
What Does It Mean to Be A Family Resource Center?

The Colorado Family Resource Center Association (FRCA) just shared a new video about their mission and network of 33 member organizations. FISH first joined FRCA in 2018 as a way to provide a more holistic approach to helping our families thrive. FRCA uses the research-based "Family Development Model," which is proven to help families succeed and become more self-sufficient. Learn more by watching here!
Kids' Snack Bags Galore!

We want to thank The Thunder Boltz 10U baseball team and Jacob Brackney for volunteering to make kids’ snack bags for FISH. The Thunder Boltz assembled roughly 600 snack bags as a team and Jacob, who reached out to help us as part of his Star scout “Citizenship in the Community” merit badge, made 83 snack bags! Thank you for all of your hard work and for bringing joy to all of the kids who will receive these awesome snacks. And good luck on your merit badge Jacob - you earned it!
