Community Catch - May 2022
We would like to give a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who made our Stamp Out Hunger food drive a success!

The support from over 90 volunteers who helped during the drive, the hard work of our postal carriers who collected food, and the wonderful donations from our neighbors help ensure that all families in Broomfield have access to the food they need to thrive! Broomfield is a mighty force when we come together as neighbors helping neighbors to feed families and fuel hope.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera and Mayor Guyleen Castriotta for visiting FISH to share remarks about the impact of this community food drive and to see our marketplace.

If you were unable to participate in the food drive this weekend, you can help us prevent hunger in our community throughout the year with monetary donations!
Congratulations to FISH Board of Directors member Sary Portillo for Being Named the Adams12 2021-22 Diversity and Equity Champion!

As a Newcomer Youth and Family Advocate for the Adams12 School District, Sary helps students and families that are new to our country by creating wrap-around support and advocating for equitable pathways to graduation. As one mother shared, “We are so thankful for Sary. I can only hope my daughters grow up to be like her.”

We are so fortunate to have such an inspiring person working to ensure equity for all members of our community in our FISH Family. Thank you for all you do Sary, this recognition is very well deserved!
May Is Mental Health Awareness Month!

Mental health, which includes emotional, psychological, and social well-being, is just as essential as physical health and is critical to overall wellness. Fighting the stigma and discussing mental health's importance and impact makes support and resources more available to anyone in need of help. We all benefit from greater awareness around mental health!

There are several options for support in our community. You are not in this alone!
Mark Your Calendars!

We are bringing back our fall luncheon for our 2022 fundraiser Embracing Hope AND we have a new venue! Join us as we come together as a community over lunch on Thursday, October 13th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Lionsgate Event Center. VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Mobile Pantry Volunteers

This month, we are recognizing our volunteers who help run the mobile pantry held in partnership with Community Food Share at Centennial Elementary School every second and fourth Wednesday of the month! A few weeks ago, they had a record-breaking day, serving 160 families in one afternoon. Their hard work makes this program possible, and we cannot thank them enough for their dedication to ensuring that everyone in our community has access to fresh, healthy food.
