Community Catch - October 2022
Thank you to everyone who supported Embracing Hope by being a sponsor, making a donation, attending the event, and spreading the word! Volunteer Spotlight: Ilene Pascale

Our volunteer spotlight this month is one of our amazing ambassadors and our back up shift leader on Wednesday afternoons, Ilene! Ilene joined FISH as a volunteer in February of 2021, one month after she moved to Colorado. Since then, she has supported FISH in so many incredible ways, including leading a food drive and fundraiser for FISH in the Broadlands neighborhood. Her favorite part about volunteering at FISH is interacting with our participants and getting to hear stories about their new jobs or things they are celebrating. When she is not at FISH, she loves to cook and travel. She is learning to play golf, and since moving to Colorado, she has become an AVS fan! Thank you for all you do for FISH and our neighbors in need Ilene!
Hunger and Homelessness Awareness and Action Week

As the Broomfield City Council Proclamation explains, nationwide, hunger and homelessness have been exacerbated by rising rents and everyday cost of living. While we are all feeling the impact of this, it disproportionately impacts low-income residents because a significant share of their monthly income goes toward essentials such as housing, transportation, and food. During the week of November 12th - 20th, we encourage the community to learn about these important issues and take positive steps to address them.
Set Up Your Colorado Gives Day Donation as Soon as Nov. 1st!

Join FISH in feeding families and fueling hope by giving for Colorado Gives Day (December 6th) starting November 1st! For every dollar donated, 95 cents go directly to our neighbors in need. Plus, your Colorado Gives Day contribution goes even further by helping us earn a part of the $1.6 million Incentive Fund!
Caring for Broomfield Together

We had so much fun volunteering with our Caring for Broomfield Together nonprofits (A Precious Child, FRIENDS of Broomfield, Bal Swan, Broomfield Council on the Arts and Humanities, CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties, and Broomfield Early Childhood Council) at A Precious Child earlier this month. Check out the super cute blanket we made together that will go to one of their participants!

Each year, Caring for Broomfield Together unites to raise awareness, celebrate community, and encourage giving to your Broomfield non-profits for Colorado Gives Day (Tuesday, December 6th). We take time to volunteer at each other's organizations to get to know more about everyone's mission and the amazing work we are all doing in our community. All of us want to make Broomfield the best home it can be, and we believe we do that best as one big nonprofit family!

This year, we will be celebrating Colorado Gives Day, the largest day of statewide giving, together and you are invited to join us! More details coming soon!
