Community Centers, Petition, Blight, Slurpee….
.
7/11/2019
Hope this email finds you well as the
rain comes
down and you can get a
free a Slurpee.
Before getting to my usual items I want to say it
was great to attend the capital funding announcement
for the Gowanus & Wyckoff Community Centers. This is something Brooklyn Community Board 6 has long pushed for. I was proud to be there today with our very own Joe Anne Brown,
NYCHA
Tenant leadership, Councilmembers
Levin
&
Lander
, Speaker
Corey Johnson
, representatives from the offices of Congresswoman
Velasquez,
Senator
Montgomerry
, Assemblymember
Simon
, and organizations such as the
Gowanus Canal Consevancy
.
Anyway, I’m not a big fan of Slurpee’s and would prefer
ice from Court Pastry
, or the items below, if I wanted to be refreshed…
The
expansion
of speed cameras,
which we have supported
, went
into effect today.
If you are not pleased with the
F Express
announcement
I mentioned yesterday
you may want to sign
Councilman Lander’s petition
.
Arguing to
help local news
and an
interesting proposal for malls
that could be applied to some of the
vacant storefronts we see around our city
.
1 more day of closures for the
9th street bridge and that is tomorrow
,
Friday, July 12th from 9 am until 4 pm.
Alternate Side Parking rules, and meters, will be in effect tomorrow, Friday, July 12th.
Subway service changes for tomorrow, Friday, July 12th.
Bus service changes for tomorrow, tomorrow, Friday, July 12th.
As always, feel free to share
this informatio
n anyway you’d like!
