CBB Invests in Local Art Program  
Local artists work is now permanently on display at the Danville and Oakland offices

CBB supports the local economy bin many ways, including purchasing original art by local artists for our offices and headquarters.  We have had the pleasure of working with SLATE Art Consulting to curate our local art program.  Local artists featured in Danville include photographer Stephen Joseph and Counterpoint Studios, Llc is on display in the Oakland office.

Community Bank of the Bay (CBB) recently became a member of the South Yuba River Citizen League (SYRCL) and sponsor of the Wild & Scenic Film Festival.

SYRCL is a non-profit (powered by over 700 volunteers) that has effectively been leading initiatives to recover California's wild salmon population and restore the Yuba River for over 30 years. SYRCL started Wild & Scenic 13 years ago as a fundraiser but has since evolved the festival into a national platform for local environmental advocacy. The recent five day festival, which took place in Nevada City and Grass Valley, offered screenings of 130 environmental and outdoor adventure films, as well as workshops, lectures, tours, music and art, all of which were selected inspire people to take action towards the earth's protection.


Films from the Wild and Scenic Film Festival are screening at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center on April 24th. See you there!

Meet Kim Ramirez, the new VP and Manager of the Oakland Office.  A veteran in the banking industry and a long time resident of Oakland, Kim spent the last six years of her career as a VP and Regional Manager at Bank of the West. She has also worked for Union Bank, First Interstate Bank and Wells Fargo.

CBB Supports Makers at Made in Oakland Inaugural Festival

Oakland's New Mayor Libby Shaaf, an Oakland native, celebrated her inauguration with the first annual "Made in Oakland Festival" at American Steele Studios. CBB was proud to sponsor a key chain made by Youth in Oakland from SUDA Fab Labs at Castlemont Middle School. The Fab Labs program is a partner and the youth component of the Oakland Makers. The event drew thousands including Governor Jerry Brown. The students used a laser printer to make these DIY key chains.

30 Social Justice Leaders and 20 staff and coaches attended Transform Finance Conference Mar 14-15
CBB Hosts Transform Finance Institute for Social Justice Leaders

On March 14-15, leaders from non-profit organizations all over the country gathered at our headquarters on Oakland to take part in a 2-day training conference organized by Transform Finance.  The event drew 30 participants and 20 coaches and staff who learned how to access Impact Investment Funds and other alternative financing options.

100 guests attended the event in spite of torrential rains and flash flood warnings!

SAFE-BIDCO / CBB Partnership Case Study

Bodkin Wines, based in Healdsburg, was featured in SAFE-BIDCO's recent newsletter as a Client Success Story. The article also mentions CBB as the bank that they partnered with to help the business get the financing they needed to expand. With the help of the State Guarantee Program, SAFE-BIDCO and Community Bank of the Bay, Bodkin Wines was able to qualify for a much higher line of credit than they would of without the help of this program.
