University Efforts Move Forward


Last month, Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law an exemption from the Surplus Land Act for the City’s University-Innovation District. The law protects the city’s strategic, long-term vision of bringing a multi-institutional, binational university to Chula Vista and the South Bay.

Lauderbach Park

Re-Opens


Lauderbach Park at 333 Oxford Street has re-opened after an extensive remodel. New basketball courts, a synthetic turf multi-purpose field, new sidewalks and enhanced landscaping are wonderful improvements.

Get Involved: Applications are now being accepted for several City boards and commissions including the new Privacy Protection and Technology Advisory Commission! And Volunteers are need for the Parks and Recreation annual Chula Vista Champions 5K run on September 16. Learn more.


Neighborhood Beautification: City staff and volunteers spent an entire week cleaning out an encampment. It's amazing what they hauled out of the location. Learn more.


Park Rangers, in conjunction with Public Works, Alpha Project, and McAlister (Work for Hope) have done another great job in July's OPERATION PRIDE efforts. Learn more.

MEETINGS AND EVENTS
