Soccer: The International Language of Friendship

A group of JFS refugee students recently enjoyed an unforgettable afternoon hosted by Brunswick School. The day kicked off with friendly games between the Brunswick players and the JFS students, where they bonded over shared fun and teamwork.

Team JFS then watched the Brunswick team win a thrilling 2-1 match, while enjoying pizza and cheering on their new friends from the sidelines.

A special thank you to goes to Brunswick's Courtney Spada for making this day a memorable experience for everyone involved. The level of connection and sportsmanship was proof that soccer is a universal language, bringing people together. We look forward to building our relationship with Brunswick; if your school or team would like to host a similar event, please contact the JFS Volunteer Department.

Join us for the Next Book Beat - January 22

Our last Book Beat session included a great discussion on The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. If you love reading and discussing thought-provoking books, join us for the next Book Beat on January 22, where we'll discuss We Must Not Think of Ourselves by Lauren Grodstein.

JFS Book Beat is dedicated to choosing compelling contemporary Jewish literature. Facilitated by Judi Margolin, the group dives into insightful discussions with a deeper look into the author and book’s background. Don’t miss out on a great conversation with new friends!
