Chula Vista to Hold FourthFest, Featuring First Bilingual Broadcast


The City of Chula Vista's FourthFest will return again this year, offering the public a free fireworks display at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center on July 4. The event is open to the public and all ages are welcome. Sponsored by Seven Mile Casino, this year’s FourthFest will feature a simultaneous broadcast in English and Spanish. Click here to read more.

City Council Actions Improve Affordable Housing Availability


The Chula Vista City Council has voted to ensure that current residents have priority for future affordable housing, especially if they have been displaced by circumstances beyond their control.

City Seeks Input from Public for Climate Action Plan Update


The City is seeking input from the public on its Climate Action Plan update through workshops and surveys. The City is updating its most recent Climate Action Plan, which was adopted in 2017. The City is holding three workshops in July. Click here to read more.

Animal Services Staff


There are no holidays in the animal shelter business because animals need to eat and be tended to around the clock. Luckily for the cities of Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, Lemon Grove and National City, there are nearly 50 passionate employees at Chula Vista Animal Services who are working tirelessly to get animals into loving homes. The staff members are also reuniting lost pets with their families.
