As we kick off the summer season, and hopefully get some sunshine, I am excited to share some incredible news and announce the latest developments that enhance our community.


First and foremost, I am delighted to announce that our homeless bridge shelter, Chula Vista Village at Otay, officially opened its doors on May 15 Click here to read the complete message.

Village at Otay


The first homeless bridge shelter in the City and San Diego County opened on May 15 with 65 pallet homes. Named Chula Vista Village at Otay, clients receive wrap around services, and 24-hour security is provided. Click here to read more.

Norman Park Senior Center


This week, the City held a ribbon cutting ceremony to showcase many improvements to the Norman Park Senior Center, located at 270 F Street. Many renovations were funded by Measure P. Click here to read more.

Good to Know: We have more food choices in Chula Vista! Learn more.


Residents of Chula Vista, National City and Lemon Grove can have their pets microchipped for free (first 150) by Chula Vista Animal Services. Learn more.


Chula Vista residents will see an increase in their sewer bill effective July 1 due to several factors. Learn more.

Get Involved: Applications are now being accepted for several City boards and commissions. Chula Vista youth ages 16-22 also have an opportunity to get involved with their city! Learn more.


Neighborhood Beautification: When complaints are received regarding an abandoned property, many residents inquire why the city “isn’t doing anything about it.” It’s a process and does take some time such as the location at 493 Broadway. Learn more.


Park Rangers, in conjunction with Public Works, Alpha Project, and McAlister (Work for Hope) collected 24,420 pounds of trash and 65 shopping carts for this month’s OPERATION PRIDE efforts. Learn more.
