Beautify Chula Vista Volunteers in front of City Hall

City Manager Message

From strengthening ties with our neighbors in Mexico to advancing our homelessness strategic plan and honoring three retiring city leaders, this month reflects both progress and transition for our City. As we head into the holidays, we encourage residents to stay informed on City closures and stay engaged in the work shaping Chula Vista's future.

Surveys: Strategic Plan and Naming Permanent Housing

The City is launching its first-ever Strategic Plan to Address Homelessness—a five-year roadmap that will guide future support services. As part of this initiative, the City is seeking community input through a dedicated survey focused on the Strategic Plan. Separately, a second survey invites residents to help name a new permanent housing community.

Tips for Fire Preparedness

The best time to prepare for fire risks is before a fire happens. November brings Santa Ana winds to the region, creating dry and windy conditions where small sparks can quickly become fast-moving flames. The Chula Vista Fire Department is dedicated to helping our residents prepare, protect their homes, and reduce the risk of wildfires.

Honoring City Retirees

The City extends heartfelt gratitude to Deputy City Manager Matt Little, Fire Chief Muns, and Police Captain Foxx for their outstanding service and leadership. We congratulate them on their well-deserved retirements.

Kids on the Go

For over 17 years, Kids on the Go has been a pillar of support in the Chula Vista community — a place where families find guidance, care, and connection. Proudly veteran-owned and military family operated, the center’s mission is rooted in service, compassion, and community strength.
