City Celebrates Milestone in Construction of New Library


City and state officials marked a major milestone in the construction of the City's newest library with a ceremonial beam signing on Sept. 10. The topping out ceremony celebrated the placement of the highest beam on the project, which is expected to be done in 2025.

Chula Vista Fire to Host Annual Open House Oct. 12


The Chula Vista Fire Department welcomes the community to its annual Open House on October 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Fire Station 5. The theme of this year's event is "Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!" with a focus on smoke detection education and practices.

Council Approves Encampment Restrictions


The City Council has approved restrictions on camping on certain public property, and voted to prohibit sitting, lying, sleeping and storing personal property in public areas to preserve ADA access and vehicle or bicycle use.
