SEPTEMBER NetworkPeninsula held its
2nd Annual Legislative Breakfast on Friday, in partnership with the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Foundation. We welcomed 17 representatives from Peninsula localities, the House of Delegates, the State Senate, and the House of Representatives. They spoke with more than 55 nonprofit leaders about the issues facing our communities, including opioid abuse, transportation, healthcare, education, workforce development, and human trafficking.
OCTOBER Faith-Based Forum - On October 24, we will welcome representatives from Newport News & Hampton area congregations to talk with nonprofit leaders about how we can better work together to help people in our communities. In November, we will hold a similar Forum for Williamsburg area congregations.
NOVEMBER Executive Director's Survival Skills - On November 3, this 3-hour session with
Jane Stein will give newer Executive Directors and CEOs (in their role 3 years or less) a guide to what it takes to survive as an extraordinary leader of a successful nonprofit organization. Following the class, particip
ants will be connected with a seasoned Executive Director to provide mentoring, receive one hour of one-on-one time with an Executive Coach, and attend networking events with fellow EDs and CEOs to continue this hands-on learning experience.

Junior Woman's Club of Williamsburg proudly presents the second annual Brews that Benefit in partnership with Alewerks Brewing Company on Saturday, September 30 from noon to 4 p.m. Enjoy the start of fall with 10 Alewerks craft beer samples, lawn games, silent auction, food truck and live music.
