Community Connections

January 2026

2nd Edition

Starting the Year with New Wheelz!

Stewart’s client, Amanda, could not believe that she received a gift like this! She was thrilled and extremely thankful for the generosity of the donor. Her hard work and dedication to improving life for her family make us proud to have her as our first Wheelz2Work recipient of 2026.

Do you have a vehicle which might be a good fit for our W2W program? Give us a call and find out how you can change a life. Please reach out to Danielle at dbush@bcoc.org/215-345-8175x209.

BCOC receives impactful grant

We are excited to share that our organization has been chosen for grant funding from Philadelphia Foundation. This grant will help us continue our vital work in the community to make an enduring difference in partnership with those we serve.

Philadelphia Foundation's support will allow us to:

● Strengthen and expand our existing programs and services

● Develop innovative solutions tailored to the needs of those we serve

● Address critical local challenges with sustainable, community-driven approaches

We are deeply grateful to Philadelphia Foundation for believing in our vision and work. The support is more than financial – it is a vote of confidence in our ability to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. As a civic catalyst, trusted partner, and strategic problem-solver, Philadelphia Foundation is working to address our region's most pressing needs, and we are honored to be part of its legacy of impact.

Our team is energized and ready to leverage this opportunity to its fullest potential, continuing our mission of building a more equitable and inclusive community!

Our own Elizabeth has been nominated for an award!

Congratulations to Elizabeth, our Food Program Manager! She has been nominated and selected as a Greater Philadelphia Innovation Award Finalist in the 2026 Greater Philadelphia Innovation Awards. This is fabulous recognition of her hard work and dedication.

The theme of the awards, “Achieving a More Just Society,” recognizes organic leadership who re-envision the challenges that communities face and find innovative solutions to reshape communities.
