June 2024

1st Edition

Volunteer opportunities, VITA wrap-up, June events, graduates, get involved with our partners, and more!

Thank you for making our Spring Appeal an amazing success!

We met our match because of your generosity.

VITA makes an impact!

Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program completed a record number of tax returns this year. Including local, state, federal, property tax and rental rebates we did 1,433 returns! This free program saved our clients over $500,000 in tax preparer fees and brought over $1.7 million dollars back to our community!

We are incredibly grateful for our VITA volunteers and thanked them with a dinner to celebrate a job well done.

From ES clients to RNs...

Celebrating two amazing women!

Brittney and her son know that the future is bright! She's a recent RN graduate, who has accomplished an amazing goal. Support with rent, gas, insurance, and access to our HELP center were important for Brittney and her family through this journey. Her coach Mary is thrilled, as is the whole BCOC family!

Kelly came to BCOC through the Coaches on Campus program, seeking assistance with rent and utilities because she had to reduce her hours at work so that she could complete her clinicals and study. The RN program at BCCC is very rigorous and time consuming, but Kelly is very dedicated and knew that eventually the hard work would pay off. Kelly enrolled in the BCOC ES program in January 2024 and has accomplished so much in such little time! Kelly received some tuition assistance as well as gift cards for food and gas. Kelly has worked part-time at Doylestown Hospital since 2021, and recently accepted a full-time position at St. Luke’s Hospital. Kelly is a very determined woman who made her dreams come true, despite many obstacles. A huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders, and now she moves into the next big chapter of her life.

Volunteer and make a difference!
