$1.5 million Home for Hope campaign underway


ECTC and Family Scholar House have announced the public launch of the Home for Hope campaign to build on-campus housing for student parents. The goal of the campaign is to remove barriers to education. The 48-unit Family Scholar House facility will be built on ECTC’s campus adjacent to the James S. Owen Building.

Welcome, students!


Students headed back to class on Aug. 14, some stepping onto an ECTC campus for the first time and others starting their last semester at ECTC before pursuing a bachelor's degree or their dream job. Many found their way to the Student Success Hub where peer mentors were ready with refreshments and answers to new students' questions.

of Metallica Scholars Initiative


Metallica's foundation, All Within My Hands, continues its multimillion-dollar investment in critical workforce programs at community colleges nationwide. Among the schools, ECTC has been invited to return and will continue to receive Metallica Scholars funding to enhance career and technical education programs.

Sellars named new provost


Dr. Telly Sellars has been named the next provost of ECTC. As provost, Sellars serves as the college’s chief academic officer, working closely with faculty and college administration to support student success.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Industrial Maintenance grad stands out in FAME program


ECTC graduate Elijah Mattingly of Lebanon was recently named Distinguished FAME Graduate by the Lincoln Trail chapter of KY FAME (Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education). Mattingly graduated in May 2023 with an Associate in Applied Science in Industrial Maintenance and is employed at Toyoda Gosei Kentucky (TGKY).


“The biggest advantage you can have is experience in your field, and that’s just what I’ve gotten through the KY FAME program,” Mattingly said. “Working at TGKY has given me hands-on experience and training that will stick with me throughout my career.”

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

If you have been following Elizabethtown Community and Technical College over the last several years, you know the college has developed many new initiatives to improve student success. As ECTC president, I could not be more excited to tell you that the work is paying off.



ECTC students’ accomplishments are apparent in both the college’s retention rate and graduation rate — two metrics commonly used to indicate student success.
