CDL program showcases training, Metallica truck unveiling


ECTC welcomed logistics employers and community members to The Road Ahead: CDL Training at ECTC, an event held to showcase the college’s CDL training The college also announced the next phase of its Metallica Scholars program. The Wherever I May Roam Truck Driving Academy, named for a Metallica song, is a part of ECTC’s collaboration with the Metallica Scholars Initiative. The event featured an unveiling of a new truck wrap.

2022-23 Scholarship Application Now Open


ECTC is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. Numerous scholarship opportunities are available and all students, either new or returning, are encouraged to apply.

Dad and daughter boast dual credit experience at ECTC


ECTC alumnus and board member Mike Phillips and his daughter Taylor, an ECTC dual credit student, both see the value of the college's dual credit program.  


“The professors are hard-working and passionate,” said Taylor. “You can tell how many years of experience they have and how many students they’ve taught. Walking in their classrooms, it’s just a warm and welcoming place.”

Nominations Open for ECTC Beacon of Light Awards


ECTC is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Beacon of Light Awards, which honor African Americans in the ECTC service area (Breckinridge, Green, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Taylor, and Washington counties) for their successes, exemplary service to their professions and communities, and their commitment to servant leadership and equity.

Army veteran pursues new goals through Agriculture Technology program


ECTC student and Army veteran Ryan Gilbey’s interest in an Agriculture degree is driven by the desire to sustainably feed 40 people.  



Gilbey started classes last spring and is holistically seeking the best ways to grow and produce food.  



“When you produce your own food, you know what you’re eating, and you know what is eaten by what you’re eating,” Gilbey said. “I want to make sure that whatever animals I have are having the best life, which is not only humane but produces more and better-quality animal products. People want to know what they’re putting in their body.”
