COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Congratulations to all of our DC West Falcons on the conclusion of another successful year at DC West! We have so much to be proud of! A special congratulations to our Senior Class of 2025 on their graduation. This class was full of kind, intelligent, hardworking, and talented students. They were fantastic role models for all other classes and raised the bar during their time at DC West. I know they will go do great things in the world and continue to make us proud!

Enjoy your summer! I will write to you again in July when you will hear from our district office and school buildings with beginning of the year information. Here is the 2025-2026 calendar as you are planning with your family for the next school year.

Mission Statement

DC West Community Schools engages, prepares, and empowers all of our students for the future.

DC West's Engagement Surveys

A goal in our strategic plan that aligns to our mission to engage, prepare, and empower all of our students for the future is to create and sustain a district culture that exemplifies and models high expectations for all staff and students while supporting the social, emotional, and mental health well-being of students and staff.

One way we measure our progress on this goal is to deliver engagement surveys annually to our staff, students, and parents. We analyze all of the itemized data from the survey and set actions and goals for improvement.

This year we had 9% of our parents, 90% of our staff and 76% of students grades 3-8 participate in the surveys. The five point survey is delivered confidentially online. Humanex Ventures conducts the surveys for us and summarizes all of the questions and answers into a satisfaction and engagement grid. A summary snapshot of each group is shared below, the circles represent this year's percentages and the rectangles represent 2024's percentages.
