More Progress on the

DC West Pollinator Habitat Prairie

DC West Science Teacher, Lindsey Boardman, and students collaborated with Monarch Joint Venture and the local DC West Pheasants Forever chapter during a volunteer planting day to plant wildflower plugs and some native shrub species to supplement the seeding of the Polinator Habitat Prairie surrounding the DC West Athletic Complex. 1100+ plants were added. The students who participated were: Jaxon Lopez, Griffin Ptacek, Tristan Perkons, Isabelle Urban, Addison Klawitter, Zoe Graves, Davis Koile, Eli Backer, and Cohen Kirby. Students in environmental science learned from guest speakers Riley Hackbart, Soil Scientist and Mike Boardman, Resource Conservationist prior to the event. We look forward to the live learning experience this prairie will provide our students and community!
