Fifty DC West Elementary fourth and fifth grade students, along with their directors, spent the past four months preparing their performance of the Disney Cinderella Kids Musical.

5th Grade Kindness Retreat
DC West 5th Graders participated in a Kindness Retreat facilitated by Youth Frontiers. The Kindness Retreat is a high-energy day to give students tools to develop empathy, promote kindness and prevent bullying.
DC West Middle School at PlaySmart Academy
DC West Middle School Students presented at the PlaySmart Leadership Academy. PlaySmart is an experience featuring leadership skills and service learning for students in 7th and 8th grade.
As the construction of our new DC West Elementary continues we are making selections for furniture and audio visual equipment for the new building. Pictured left is the furniture selection group and pictured right is a demonstration of interactive flat panels that will be featured in every classroom.
Ian Gleason was one of six winners (out of 300 entries) to win the Red Cross Heroes in the Heartland Essay Contest. Congratulations Ian!
