Work Ready Ky provides nearly $1.2 million to ECTC students in 2021-22


ECTC students received $1,183,972 through the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship (WRKS) during the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. The scholarship was awarded to a total of 454 students in business and IT, construction and trades, transportation and logistics, healthcare and advanced manufacturing programs.

 

“That’s nearly $1.2 million saved for our future skilled workforce,” said ECTC President Dr. Juston Pate. “The Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship removes the No. 1 barrier to a college education — cost. Further, students in these programs graduate ready to enter high-paying career fields available right here in our region.”

Dr. Corina Langford named ECTC Chief Student Officer


Elizabethtown Community and Technical College President Dr. Juston Pate is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Corina Langford as the college’s next Chief Student Officer. Langford, who most recently served as Campus Director and Regional Executive Director with American National University, will join the ECTC team July 1.

Kennard and Melva Peden Fund for ECTC supports faculty’s educational pursuits 


ECTC continues to collaborate with the Central Kentucky Community Foundation (CKCF) to ensure faculty and students can apply for grants from the Kennard and Melva Peden Fund for ECTC. The fund is managed by CKC enables faculty and student organizations to further their educational pursuits, supporting activities like professional development, conference attendance and study abroad.

ECTC professors receive KOOL Academy Exemplary Certificate Recognition


Dr. Clay Matthews, Associate Professor of English, and Miky Wright, Associate Professor of Mathematics, recently were awarded Certificates of Exemplary Achievement for outstanding course design after participating in the KCTCS Optimizing Online Learning (KOOL) Academy for Hybrid Course Design.

ECTC Agriculture program adds animal science track for Fall 2022


The agriculture program at ECTC will offer an animal science track in Fall 2022. Animal technology, livestock management, and animal nutrition will be required courses for the new track, in addition to the program’s core agriculture curriculum.

Coding Academy graduate finds purpose on Fort Knox


Lesley Downs, originally from Bardstown, is a graduate of the Spring 2020 and first Greater Knox Coding Academy class, whose higher educational journey began at Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship and a certificate in distilling arts and sciences.
