COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
One month ago when I sent the Community Connections I never anticipated that we would witness a national disaster right here in our school district. Never before have I witnessed the true meaning of community more than in the past few weeks. So many people have extended their support in countless ways. Many families are healing, many are still hurting, and many are supporting. What I do know about the Falcon Community is that we will get through this together, one step at a time. Please contact me personally if your family has been impacted and you have not been contacted by the school. We want to help!

DC West Flood Relief
Our DC West Community has assisted with the flood relief efforts in many ways. Initially, around 70 employees volunteered to assist in cleanup around our communities the week of the flood. So many parents, staff, and students volunteered hundreds of hours to our community Flood Relief effort at the Campus on Mayne.
As we returned to school, we set up an in-house referral system for teachers to refer students, families, and staff that may have been impacted by the flooding. A call has been made to these families from school and during the last two weeks we have distributed food, clothes, coats, shoes, underwear, socks, giftcards, bedding, pillows, diapers, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, sent housing leads, coordinated transportation, lined up hotels and found furniture. This is just the beginning, as so many have lost so much. We DO have amazing resources and plenty of people ready to help so we will continue to communicate with all families that are open to support to assist with their needs.
We have been blessed with multiple other schools, organizations, and individuals donating money, materials for flood relief, comfort supplies, as well as playground and play equipment. An Adopt a Family for Flood Relief has been initiated for families sponsored by surrounding schools and organizations who have reached out to assist.
We want to help as many families as possible. I f you could use assistance or know of a family that could use our assistance, please contact the school @ 402-359-2583. We are here to help and have resources available!
