Can you believe it? We are in the fourth quarter of our school year during the pandemic and Mid-March came and went without an interruption of school with a flood or a shut down. I am so proud of our school community and all that we have accomplished together. Thank you for trusting us, giving us your kids to take care of each day, and staying Falcon Strong!
In partnership,

BOND PROPOSITION SPECIAL ELECTION SET
by MAIL on MAY 11, 2021
|
This 72,000 square foot project has an estimated budget of $16,800,000 and includes:
38,000 square feet of new construction including
- a middle school addition
- a 500 seat auditorium with fine arts classrooms
-
restrooms and concessions for the softball complex
34,000 square feet of renovation including
- classrooms
- a weight room
- locker rooms
- a wrestling/cardio room
- multi-purpose space
This proposal will NOT increase the tax levy that you pay to DC West Community Schools.
We need the vote from the DC West communities to move $.07 from the building and general funds to the bond fund, in order to complete this proposed project. In the viewpoint of the school board and community facility task force, this is the most efficient and prudent use of taxpayer dollars. Even though the funds are available, Bond funds may only be granted with a vote of the people.
Registered voters will receive ballots between April 19-30th. If you are not registered to vote, the deadline for this election will be April 23rd by mail/online and April 30th in person.

Return to Learning and COVID-19 at DC West
We continue to be vigilant in our efforts surrounding our protocols for the health and safety of our students. In order to provide our community an idea of what is happening inside our schools with positive cases and quarantines, we will provide monthly data from our records in the Community Connections. This data includes students attending in person as well as remotely. A couple of definitions for this data are; a COVID positive staff or student is one who received a positive result on a COVID test, a quarantine is an individual who is positive with COVID or one who had a close contact exposure to a person with a positive result on a COVID test.
Data reported from August 20, 2020- April 2, 2021:
